Short of him falling on his face or missing time due to an injury, I think it's all but certain he'll sign after this season.

Whether he'll play in Laval or Montreal next year, though? That remains to be seen. I get the feeling he'll be in Laval.

Yeah. Players taken from the CHL (Owen Beck, for example) only have the option of the NHL or CHL until they've completed their junior eligibility. That rule doesn't apply to players taken from the USHL, Europe, etc.

Not all NHL players have to skate like 97 in Edmonton or 43 in Vancouver. Many skate like 8 in Washington or 29 in Edmonton
