I provided numbers too, 5th in GSAx, you just pick the numbers you like, and cling on your feelings to argue that he somehow so heavily influence the game into making him face more high danger chances, which is completely based on how you feel about him. I'm not arguing that he's a stud, but he's not as bad as you make him out to be.

We'll agree to disagree. My "feelings" are about mismanagement, not Montembeault.

And I've proven time and again how flawed GSaX is as a stat. There's a reason it's literally the only stat that can somewhat support your argument.

You do realize that everything you just said about me can be applied to you and your sense of "fairness" correct?

And he's exactly who I make him out to be. You just ignore some points that I've made. 1B or backup is what I've said multiple times.
 
One more point that you, again and again, dismiss. His allowance of muffins directly leads to more HDSC once the team has to play catchup and open up the game. This is a fact GW. Stop ignoring the nuances of the game, that's HF board level crap.

All stats are flawed. GSaX is about the best stat that exists for goaltending, which is why it is favored by more advanced analysts.

I'm aware of how feelings may affect my judgment, I'm not the one denying it.

I also said 1B or backup, right before you accused me of being blinded by my feelings, so what are we even arguing about?? :D
 
We're arguing about your take on my motivation.

You can pretend that's the grail (Easter theme) of goalie stats GW but GSaX is really the pouch that held 30 pieces of silver.

This actually is purely subjective and driven by feeling. We can't even agree on what is a muffin. There is no stat that indicated that he significantly give up more weak goals than other goalies.

If you have a better stat than GSaX, I'm all ear, and it's not save% or GAA.

Ask coaches at all levels.
 
I'm good with the masses being consistently wrong, wouldn't be human otherwise and if the masses weren't consistently wrong then the world may actually be a better place to live in.
