New Canadian Politics Thread

Yeah, I hear you on that. Even in my own personal life, I know a depressingly high number of people who have their heads in the sand that this is just politics as usual.

Still though, there’s plenty of hopeful signs that the anger towards Trump & the US is deep and widespread. Guess we’ll see how things play out.
I can't really tell from here because I live in the middle of Dumbfuckistan surrounded by Freedumbers who openly love Trump already. In Berta, racism = patriotism.

Just a quick heads up for the rest of y'all as you run through the world with an open wallet.

"Made in Canada" means any product with 51-97% "Canadian content". Product of Canada is 98%+
It’s kind of bullshit cause it requires your inputs to be Canadian made as well unless you qualify it - and nobody right now is gonna say “made in Canada… with shit from the US”

"Like Canadians across the country, Conservatives are relieved to hear that there will be a one-month pause on tariffs from the United States that would have hurt workers, families and businesses on both sides of the border," Poilievre posted to social media.

I am guessing that Canadian's and Conservatives are differnt species...
That would explain a lot

Unifor Statement:

Trump’s tariff announcement was a turning point for our country. The President declared economic war on Canadian workers and our country. There is no turning back. No one should let their guard down at this 30-day pause on the tariffs. The threat of tariffs and therefore the continued threat of economic harm to the workers of Canada must be front and centre. We know the mere threat of tariffs is damaging to our economy. As a country, we must use the days ahead to continue to bring Canadians together, to plan for a potential trade war, and to use every single available lever to build a strong, resilient, and diverse economy. Make no mistake, Canada’s decision to push back hard against these tariffs from the U.S. was an important statement about our resolve and determination. We will need to rely on that resolve in the difficult days ahead.

So continue booing the anthem at sporting events?

Gotta take all of this in stride. Keep our composure. Keep calm and carry on and all that.

But I swear to god if we lose to the U.S. in stupid 4 team hockey tournament…
