Yep. My riding is pretty much an automatic Liberal win in either Provincial or Federal elections. But I still vote every election.

Kind of your minimum responsibility as a citizen of a democratic nation. And the higher the turnout, the more legitimacy the government has.

Voting is an immense privilege. I try to do it every chance I can.

Yeah there’s a polling station literally across the street from me. Never takes more than 10-15 mins

I regret not voting consistently in my 20s and getting more interested in US politics over the years has made me appreciate so much how easy it is here.

I’ve voted in every possible federal and provincial election since turning 18.

Though one thing I do have to be better at is voting in municipal elections. I have to admit that I never voted in a single one when I lived in the burbs.

And then since moving to Toronto around 15 years ago, the only times I’ve bothered voting have been when I was trying to keep a Ford from becoming Mayor.

I only had to wait in a long line once, in 2015 when Justin got elected.

Yeah, come to think of it, I think that was the only time it took me longer than 5-10 minutes to vote.

Even then, it was only about 20-30 minutes.

Jesus. Once I started reading through that, I had to stop and double-check it wasn’t a link to The Beaverton. Just beyond parody to somehow turn a short questionnaire into wall-to-wall lunacy like that.
