Wow. Earlier in the season than once upon a time. Used to make the journey from SF for the equestrian events, especially the big jump off. Ian Millar and Big Ben won me some money one time. Pretty cool - good times.

I am convinced that social media was a mistake. It took some years, but eventually we have perfected the art of the grift/brainwashing through this channel. I don't see how it gets any better.

The account's name is Market Mania. It's a bot account that makes money by stoking outrage. It's not that they believe any of what they say. It's just grist for the mill. They'll pretend to believe anything if it helps with their grift.

The only thing that has been figured out so far is how to use it for evil. And it did take awhile to get to this point. Maybe eventually that changes, but I don't love anything that can be used as a powerful tool for fame, money or power.

I'm generally optimistic, probably more than most around here. But not so much on this topic.
