Or want to be a homeowner without hoping their parents elderly care bills don't cost more than the value of the house to be inherited.

That covers most of them though, yeah.
My parents are currently going through 14k/month at a retirement residence. It’s abhorrent and absurd. The wait list for LTC is 3-5 years. Thankfully they sold their home and have the money to cover this and it will outlast them.

Future generations are complete effed without the 10+x returns on home equity, higher costs of living and astronomic and rising costs of that level of care.
 
It's an odd choice because when you walk in you really thunk it can't last much longer. Seems so little people go in there and it's all overpriced crap.

Now there'll be a steady stream of people waiting for their turn at the kiosk to walk around and buy the overpriced crap.

Not even counting the lack of pensions in jobs. Will be curious to see what a society does. There's only so many 80 year old Walmart greeters that we need to keep employing
