I’ve started going past intermission and silencing my phone so I can fast forward through commercials and “analysis” during the action and just watch the game (unless MJ is on the TSN broadcast).

Bieksa is the only one who piques my interest at all among the intermission analysts. Hrudey is the king of the bad takes and every time Jen Botterill opens her mouth you can tell that she is merely mouthing words that were written for her to say. Playing women's hockey doesn't qualify you to talk about the x's and o's of NHL hockey. It's just Rogers ticking a box on a diversity checklist.

I don't know if HNIC can be fixed or updated all that much. If George Strombolombolopolis was too edgy for them there's not much hope for the Snoop Dogs. NHL hockey panels on Canadian television will never be like the NFL shows in the States. They are not hip and don't seem to want to be.
