Yes, but I'm not against letting Nick wreck the AHL for 10 games before bringing him up. He needs to be confident enough in his game to make the impact he can make. Don't need him up here gripping the stick tight.
By 10-15 games in we will start to get a bit more clarity I think. The problem with Minten is that he has to go back to junior if we send him down. But with Knies, I wouldn't be shocked to see him spend a bit of time in the AHL this year either. Most good prospects spend some time in the minors. Knies just looks NHL ready physically, so he's skipped that part so far.
Robertson swapping out Reaves would at least give them 2 pretty good lines in the bottom 6. Instead one line is always gonna be unplayable. Reaves just kills them. #DomWasRight
- Bertuzzi is good and will be good
- Domi and Klingberg will be fine in (completely) sheltered roles
- Reaves leaves us a line short, no matter how you rejig them. the only way to salvage this is to use his slot to double shift one of the big 4 for a bunch of shifts each game.
- Knies...well, you never know with kids. I hope he'll be fine and if not Robby is waiting for his shot.
The way Jarn is playing I don't see why he couldn't play 3C tbh. Not sure I get the hesitancy from Keefe to even try it once in his entire tenure with the Leafs? Maybe they have some data from his past years that he was falling off at center?
Its pretty nonsensical to bench Minten halfway through his 9 game tryout based on performance. He is 2nd on the team in ixg/60, 5th in iCF/60, 8th in xGF%, 6th in xGA/60.
