No Excuses No Limits! The mother fucking goddamn season thread

You take that back! Ringo only wrote 2 songs for the Beatles, and this was the better one! You can't tell much about a song only hearing it once, either (IMO). Also, the Beatles only have 4 or 5 songs in the entire catalog I would call meh.
I love Octopus Garden. George Harrison intro and outro are some of my favourites sounds in any Beatles song

This ought to raise some eyebrows....

I think Sgt. Pepper is their worst album.

I sold all my vinyl a few years back, I had quite a few Beatles records, can't recall how many. The Sgt. Pepper album was in near mint condition from lack of play.

With A Little Help From My Friends, (I liked Joe Cocker's version better), A Day In The Life, Lucy In The Sky, and the title track are the best of the album IMO. The rest, bleh.

it's rightly considered one of the greats because of the impact it had at the time, and all the things it helped usher into the music industry (albums as art, anything goes musically, great cover, lyrics on the back, etc.) But at the same time, it is a little overrated with several weak tracks on there. And also led to a thousand horrible concept albums. I do think Within You Without You and Mr. Kite fit in perfectly though.

Rubber Soul, Revolver, and Abbey Road are better albums for sure.

Getting Better

All great tracks

I'm a diehard Beatles guy but I'm not one of those folks that thinks everything they did was brilliant! They put out plenty of junk.

Yes, exactly. The meh category can also be called crap, depending on which song.

But there are probably 25 songs that are elite. Like old Sens super elite third line level elite, except actually elite.

Fuck. I just saw that even Raffi covered Octopus Garden, so it’s definitely not a song for kids

Marner on Reaves:
“Obviously one of the best fighters if not [the best] in the league. Just how his IQ is when he’s fighting, you can see it on the bench, just his patience with kind of trying to draw people in & kind of unload. It’s always fun watching 75 throw hands."

Tavares on Reaves-Rempe:
“Fans were fantastic. Obviously there was some anticipation. Everyone was itching for it. Credit to both those guys. I don’t know how anyone would ever want to drop’em with Reavo. Great job by him & the way he steps up in that aspect of the game for us"

Max Domi on Reaves-Rempe:
“The crowd was extra amped up tonight for a huge event like that & both of them, obviously they left it all out there, & respect to that kid. He’s a tough dude & Reavo’s the toughest guy in the league."

Smiling Ilya Samsonov: "Better than UFC sometimes"
