Is D a priority over improving the bottom 6?

Going to hard to watch Holmberg and Kampf get steam rolled for 7 games
 
I don't mind upgrading anywhere but....



Domi/Robby/Patches is good 3rd line quality.

Kampf/Lorentz/Holmberg is good 4th line quality.

Dewar/Steeves is good injury depth.

I don't know that Benoit/Timmins/Myers/Hakanpaa are even 3rd pair quality.
 
Seeing Paryko on this team Canada his size is notable.

I wonder if Berube and tre talk about Schenn, but really have interest in paryko

Larsson 😒 (reputation perfect fit but never as good as reputation)

Tanev would be fun, but that contract is horrible and he shouldn't be worth anything in a trade. He's basically better offensively, worse defensively Lorentz.

But even at 50% retention he is paid 50% too much and will impact their ability to acquire more impactful players.

Because they're a bottom feeder after having expectations that Montour would be a #1D for them going forward, and we're trying to contend and have a much comfier role for him here.
 
Based on the nerdies, Montour and Larsson eat the heavies.

Gourde is the only one with significant ice time up front who is treading above water at 5v5 xg% and scf%
 
Gourde is currently recovering from sports hernia surgery, and may be recovered by the trade deadline, but won't have played hockey in 2 months.
