i do actually like the kid tbh.
But it's fricken hilarious that none of the hype jobs on him ever talk about what is imo by far his best asset - his skating.
He's an elite skater, but all they ever talk about is fucking blocked shots and leaderbeans.
Anyways he's a righty that can really skate and loves to engage physically, which will always make him interesting, and definitely to other GMs.
He'll never be an offensive dman but as always the more worrying thing about his lack of offense in junior is more what it potentially says about his overall hockey IQ and ability to become a great defensive dman than it is about the actual lack of offense itself. A kid with his skating should probably be putting up big point totals in junior if he had the kind of hockey IQ that would turn him into a top defensive D in the nhl.
but maybe he can get there anyways. the tools are pretty fun.
