They couldn’t match that Walman trade. But pettersen ya should have been in on that. We’ll see what happens today, but Tree has been openly trying to get a center all year and lots of good centers have been traded and he couldn’t get any of them.
The one that gets me though is that Petterssen and Walman were traded and he wasn’t in on that.
I'd wager he wants 14M, and none of these teams are willing to give it to him, but someone in the summer might.I'd bet dollars to donuts he wants either back in colorado or he wants Florida.
The question becomes, is said add actually replacing Holmberg though, or will Berube go all plug.I mean at the very least they should spend mid round picks to upgrade on Holmberg in the top 9 and Benoit.
What the hell is a 3rd round pick in 2026 going to do for this team.

I'd worry anyone they get for the bottom 6 pushes out Robertson.
The Shanahan era has set a precident of what he thinks they need at the deadline and it has never been skill.
I think a plug-ish defender is more reasonable than a forward, because Marco Ferraro for exaple is an upgrade on Benoit, the cost might suck, but its an upgrade. Im not convinced a Tanev/Kunin/Laughton is even that big an upgrade if at all on what comes out of the lineupIf we can get through today without acquiring Laughton, either of the Schenns or any old, rental or bottom-6/bottom-pairing caliber talent, I’ll honestly take that as a win.
Don’t even care if we end up standing pat as a result.
But wouldn't that have the opposite effect? I would pay more for B Schenn now if we could just dump him (not a buyout) in a year.Contract structure? Knowing you can dump anyone at any time with minimal consequences seems to help
What about one of these for multiple picks? If we can get through today without acquiring Laughton, either of the Schenns or any old, rental or bottom-6/bottom-pairing caliber talent, I’ll honestly take that as a win.

I can't understand the trade values between leagues...
NHL: you want an okay player on a bad contract? Sure multiple highend assets is a starting point.
NFL: you want this pro bowl player? Sure a 5th round pick sounds fair
