people complain about the prices but i probably would have done any of the deals so far for the actual good players that have been moved.

as long as i can see a player being a clear upgrade for us i'm not gonna complain much about the price (unless the price ends up being losing good players off the roster).

Yeah, I honestly agree. He’s won a Cup there and his number will be going up into the rafters there when he retires. So I think they’ll want to do right by him and do whatever he wants, which even includes not trading him at all if he doesn’t want to leave Boston/be a rental somewhere.

And why would the Bruins have any animosity towards the Leafs anyways? It’s not like it’s a real rivalry when one team loses every single time.

If McDavid ever comes available, you re arrange your salary structure to make him work. There's no "giving up" on him. You find the cap space, even if it fucks with your roster construction.

But unless you know something you're not supposed to know, you can't sit back and plan around the possibility of him becoming available either.
