Have to admit I've been dreaming up dishing out a Minten and a 1st package for an impact player for awhile now.
Also must admit I hadn't ever considered that player to be Brandon Carlo.
Might be our only hope now.

So yeah he was actually a beast in the playoffs last year. Their #3 dman, in arguably the toughest usage, with the 2nd best xgf% behind only one of the bottom pair guys. Even chipped in more offense than all but one of the D. And was their #1 PK guy.

He's always been a beast as per my eyes. Guess it all depends on which version of Carlo they get. Seems to be a lot more variability in effectiveness from stay at home d. Much depends on systems, teammates, fit, etc. After all the Leafs once made Luke Schenn look amazing! My eye test agrees. Haven’t watched him play this year but I doubt he’s cooked at 28.
I’m sure Tre aimed higher, however
Would be nice if he turned out to be McCabe 2.0. A good top-4 defenseman (and a RHD to boot) acquired with a couple of prime under-contract years left.
