Yeah the Leafs don’t have much of a choice. They should have made a trade years ago if anything.

That's really what it comes down to imo. If his balls have dropped and he brings it in the playoffs, whatever, pay him. If he doesn't though, you can't lock in 14 million to a guy who isn't helping you win the only thing that really matters.
