So it looks like this is how the Leafs ended up vs. Strength of Schedule this year:

Vs. Top-10: 22gms, 112pt pace, +0.50gdiff/gm
Vs. Bot-10: 26gms, 136pt pace, +1.27gdiff/gm

So they were pretty great vs the top teams, and took care of business very nicely against the bottom teams.

The problem?

Vs. Mid-12: 33gms, 82pt pace, -.21gdiff/gm

they stunk against the bubblish teams.

This includes bubblish team Ottawa, who the leafs went 0-3 against with a -6 gdiff.

So in the end:

East: 1450pts, 527 regulation wins
West: 1445pts, 513 regulation wins

Closer than it's been a while, but the East still better this year. And it's only really close because the west had more OT pts against each other.

Leafs vs Strength of Schedule:

Vs. 1-8: 106pt pace, +0.41gd/gm
Vs 9-16: 82pt pace, -0.24gd/gm
Vs 17-24: 103pt pace, +0.04gd/gm
Vs 25-32: 144pt pace, +1.55gd/gm

Vs. Top-10: 112pt pace, +0.50gd/gm
Vs. Mid-12: 93pt pace, -0.27gd/gm
Vs. Bot-10: 136pt pace, +1.27gd/gm

So really good against the good teams and the bads. Very mid against the mid teams tho.

I mean it's mostly blue which is good, but the 5v5 nerdies are very mediocre. The PP is good (though in a bit of a slump to end the year), and the PK just hasn't been very good. The team's shooting talent and goaltending talent seems pretty real though.

Since Deadline:

A bit better. The 5v5 defensive nerdies moved into solid "good" territory, but the offensive nerdies dropped too. The PP went supersaiyan before cooling off, and the PK kinda fell apart.
