...and now here's where I do one of my usual jobs around here by spoiling the fun and pointing out that Rielly has a full NMC, and that there's not a goddamn chance in hell he waives it for the privilege of spending the next five seasons playing for a godawful rebuilding team in a city he has zero connection to.

I think Rielly would accept a trade, but yeah I'm not sure if Pittsburgh is a place he would accept for. I could see him going home to Vancouver being a thing, or anywhere that would help Tessa's career being a thing.

Yeah. Although, like with Tavares & Marner before him, I think the chances are extremely high Rielly won't waive his NMC in any circumstance, it's not 100%. But it'd have to be for a destination/situation where you can make some cogent argument why it'd be appealing for Rielly to agree to leave Toronto to go there. And that argument simply does not exist for a Pens team that's right at the beginning of a lengthy rebuild.
 
ah toronto, the place where the fans who think the team are hopeless losers also believe that toronto is the only place in the league no player would ever leave.
