OT: American Politics

The South didn’t want to negotiate. They wanted the Northern states to accept slavery in the south and its westward expansion. Moreover, they wanted the north to pass laws and spend resources on apprehending runaway slaves to support the slave state system.

Sound familiar?

Pretty sure that Trump's negotiated settlement to the Civil War would be to make the northern states slave states too.

I don't understand this tweet. Every seat in the House is up for grabs in November, as they are each and every two years?
Technically but not actually up for grabs. For instance, in the next Canadian federal election, there will be a Liberal candidate trying to win a seat in Red Deer but that doesn't mean it's "up for grabs". Whichever fascist bozo Poilievre runs in that riding is going to win it in a cakewalk, followed by the PPC in distant second place, and a sock puppet from the Maverick Party or the Flat Earth Society in third. The Liberal might get their immediate family to vote for them, if they're lucky.

We should all appreciate that they took the masks off before they took total power and not after, because fuck were they close to doing it completely unopposed. 5-10 years tops.

Trump gave them too much confidence that it was a done deal though.

He plays to the inner tough guy we have in us. The one that weak people wish they could be more often. Someone who can say what they want about others, (Often to put them down to big themselves up) and of course get away with it
