OT: American Politics

The assassination perp used an iron sight at 140yds.

Used a drone hours beforehand to scout the area, around feds, unabated.

Secret service didn't attend the local law enforcement security meeting that morning where they establish their lines of comm.

Counter snipers were originally not authorized for the event, and when they were they only scouted the area a day before.

The local law enforcement taking pictures of the guy an hour before the event with a range finder.

He rode a bike from his van filled with explosives a mile to the event with his gun.

The kid aimed a gun at the officer who got on the roof and within seconds swung around and started shooting the president? That accurately? BS

This is getting too crazy to blame on incompetence and chance.

Typically, you are arguing the wrong point. Not a single person has yet to state that Trump wasn't shot at.

If anything is being alleged, it is the question of was it a bullet that actually hit Trump's ear. An AR-15 should have ripped the ear from his head as opposed to nicking it. If glass cut his ear, where was it from? If it was metal or Plexiglas, where were they from?

No one is saying that he wasn't shot at. He was.
And it absolutely should have never happened.

And "this side" is still being far more emphatic than the "other side" was when Paul Pelosi was attacked by an intruder with a hammer.
It isn't even close.

I don't really care about the bandage. He was shot at, he can milk it if he wants.

The whole thing was a massive breakdown of security, obviously. Incompetence? Complacency? Just for sanity's sake of any Secret Service protection of any other public former president, I'm sure the whole thing deserves a deep investigation.

Of course, it would help if the US somehow could break out of being the society that actually has stuff like that happen, and figure out how to prevent someone unhinged from nearly killing a candidate/former president, no matter how repulsive he is.
