This is my opinion, if you require religion to be a "Good person" then there's something wrong with the person. Decency does not need religion however religion does need decency and we do not see that unless you're in lock step.

Yeah, this is a point I often come back to.

I love it when religious people admit that they can’t conceive of still being motivated to live an ethical life or treating other people well in the absence of an omnipotent God who’s going to dole out either eternal reward or eternal punishment for their actions.
