OT: American Politics

Chappell Roan

Huge pop star. Hero to lgbt folk.

Both-sidesed a question about the election. (Legit points imo and smart for a pop star from the midwest)

Backlash ensued.

Then she did this vid explaining that just because she didn't endorse Kamala didn't mean she wasn't voting for her.
I don’t really get her points about Dems being transphobic. Doesn’t really make much sense.

She has a GOP uncle passing actual anti-trans legislation so she knows what that actually looks like.

Between sanewashing Trump, and the Dems natural inclination to message poorly, there are large swatches of America who simply have no idea what the issues are and what is at stake.

The Harris campaign should be presenting a forum along the lines of " A case for America", and get the information out there.

I watched this yesterday. What was "interesting" was that the undecided voters all said that "they have to do more research".
Alex Wagner didn't follow up with the obvious journalistic answer...

"How are you going to do the research"?

This media myth of an undecided voter is hilarious. I don't buy it for a second. I bet there are like two of them at this point.

Yeah, the media presents undecided voters all the time...they are usually not so undecided and merely paraded around to drive engagement. It's all smoke and mirrors. Undecided really is an embarrassed trump fan.
CNN has presented the same person as being "undecided" on panels since 2016. They were caught out.

Not going to parse her words too much but i'm not going to be too angry about someone having misgivings about the dems but still voting for them.

oh yeah the NYT's 'undecided' voters are usually anything but. same with CNN. but that doesn't mean they don't actually exist

I mean, there are some but data shows that they're incredibly low information voters as a group.

I wonder if a low information group is more prone to not showing at the poll? I would think that they would be at a significant risk of just not caring enough to vote...unless they are party votes, maybe a bit shamed.
