What a mess in Florida. If you are living through the hurricane and all the horrific floods, seeing what nature can do, comparing it to how things were when you were younger, and still vote for climate change denying party....then not sure there is anything that can change you.

While in and of itself it’s futile to engage with Trump with how much he’s in the bag for Putin, I do think I get what Zelenskyy’s doing here.
To the best of his ability, he can’t allow Ukraine and the United States’ continued support for their defense against Russia to become a starkly partisan issue in the US.
So even if he knows he’s proper fucked if Trump wins, the fact that Zelenskyy’s not overtly taking sides in US partisan politics and showing deference to Trump will hopefully give those outside the most hardcore wing of the Republican Party the ideological cover-fire they need to keep supporting Ukraine.
