Think this is actually a very very tiny minority of rich people. Most of them are content with their oceans of money and power and care not what the plebs think of them.

Elon really is a special case. His sheer desperation to be liked, admired, respected and thought of as cool and funny is just off the charts. When you see clips of him at Trump rallies, that desperation is practically pouring out of him like sweat.

He might even somehow be more desperate than Trump for adulation.
