All of that pandering to Republicans with "we're tough on the border too!" and parading Cheney's around sure had a lot of impact with Republicans in the end eh? The "silent Trump vote" in 2024 was former Trump voters telling pollsters they would vote Democrat this time around, until they got to the booth and couldn't do it.

Cool and good that Biden was such a feeble President that the MAGA twit that Trump appointed to destroy the US postal service from within kept his job running the place throughout Biden’s time in office.
Now they can really finish off the job.

When Biden won the election, the Democrats had a chance to save the whole thing and in retrospect they Democrat'd it. They came in and did Democrat things. Rebuilt the economy, made some of the right noises about maybe thinking about starting a committee to brainstorm ideas on what other committees would be necessary to save democracy...but did 30% of what was necessary to stop Trump from happening again and here we are.

This was, in part, a battle among oligarchs. One side won, and now they’ve all aligned behind Dotard to avoid retribution and attacks from the winning side. e.g. Musk wants to sick the regulators on Microsoft.

These are the people who's parent and grandparents hated FDR and the New Deal. And just like with Roe v Wade, Republicans always play the long game. Most of the New Deal has been legislated out of existence and the surviving remnants are what Project 2025 aims to kill off now. They seek to return America to the robber baron era.
