Obama did the same, or worse. In the first half of his first term, he had a majority in Congress and could have jammed through all sorts of progressive legislation as well as made government fascist-proof. He could have done better than ACA, he could have rammed through a single payer system And he could have eliminated the GOP as a threat by pushing through statehood for DC and PR. The Dems would have never lost another election in our lifetimes.
But nooooooooooo!!!!
He had to "reach across the aisle" and "build bridges" and a half hundred other things that Republicans don't give a shit about. All they ever wanted to do was oppose him for the sake of being opposed. Even things from which they as Republicans, would have benefitted they weren't interested. Their only desire was to see the N word President thwarted.
Obama should have done to them what they are now going to do to the rest of us. Steamrolled them.
But Dems are too nice and they observe "norms".
