Those tech jobs number in what… the 10s of thousands? Maybe? The magnitude, location and education requirements of those openings were never going to resolve anything for the huge majority of aggrieved Trumpanzees. It’s totally beyond their reach to begin with.
It's a worldview thing though. You can't pitch an America first worldview to people and then tell them that high paying tech jobs are beyond the capacity of American workers to fill, so we need people you don't like from places you look down upon to come in and do it instead...while making way more money than you make at your job to do it.
Especially when it's the Dork Maga oligarchs who benefit from the arrangement.
Another thing getting said around here for years. He thought the bots were the people and the people were the bots.
Sure. But… now what?
Perhaps there’s cause to look into why qualified domestic kids aren’t getting tech jobs - I have no idea. But they aren’t really Trumpanzees either. The core Trumpanzee base would still be holding a bag of shit if those tech jobs went to ‘Murican kids. The labour market is highly stratified, and there ain’t no way those old low/semi skilled jobs are coming back. There’s no real connection between the two in that worldview and changing HB1 won’t change a damn thing.
Wait I thought you never left!Twitter is absolutely incredible right now. I'm hooked again.

What a coincidence that this Dittman dude is also a Saffer?another couple adjacent points
a. goddamn twitter "spaces" are useless
b. how the fuck do those people not realize that is Elon Musk's voice?
this actually seems to be what elon did when he took over twitter - fired all the american citizens, and kept the H1B visa types who were cheaper and had no negotiating leverage. #efficiency
Yup purely exploitative, like much they doyeah but in this case it seems they've been using these H1Bs for entry-level coding type positions. because they can pay them much less and demand they work much more, and the employees can't quit unless they finally obtain a different visa a decade+ later.
