OT: American Politics

So much shit going on now that I can't keep up with it anymore.

Fuck it.

My mind is about to become comfortably numb with a little help from my friends "Herb" and The Dead.

You're all cordially invited to join me.

You’re onto something. Enjoy your last chapter

>>Prof Geoffrey Hinton, who this year was awarded the Nobel prize in physics for his work in AI, said there was a “10% to 20%” chance that AI would lead to human extinction within the next three decades.

He said it was somewhat overrated (particularly when you look at the cost) which I can agree with. He’s not hiring communication grads from India.

Elon utters a ton of despicable crap. We’re doing him a favor when you criticize his more reasonable pronouncements

A lot of people on the left also think some college degrees are overrated. They’re not talking about law, medical, engineering, hard sciences, etc

How pathetic would it be if we all go out with some crummy ending from any random sci-fi book that was sitting in the 10 cent bin at the library when we were kids.

Hard to not think that certain degrees are over rated when good middle class professions like teaching have been detonated but still require degrees that cost 100K+

There's a lot of degrees that provide a ton of societal utility, but are bad economic investments in a system as tilted towards the wealthy as the US is.

Yeah… my point is that Elon saying degrees are somewhat overrated does not make my top 1000 things I hate about him
