I don't want to "well ackshually" a joke too hard....but I think it's okay this time because the joke is based off that particular motherfucker not realizing that the US state of California is already a Spanish/Mexican name because it was named by the Spanish and was a part of Mexico until the early 1800's.

So...joking that Mexico should change the name of that body of water to something Mexican is, well, redundant.

It actually is a statement about the stupidity of the name change in general.

They've Trans'd themselves into a christian nationalist theocracy on the verge of wiping out ~250 yrs of internationally historic democracy

As a case study, it's amazing and I can't turn from watching the train wreck. As a neighbour though, it becomes really hard to see how we maintain our democracy while next to that.
