Not to mention that all of the richest and most powerful oligarchs in America, including the ones who nominally opposed Trump or stayed neutral during his first term, are now fully on board with MAGA.

When viewed together as a whole, Snyder's take that chaos and breaking the place is the attempt, not a side effect of the attempt and Krugman separately pointing out that Musk has the keys to the treasury and could easily break COBOL, bringing the entire system to a screeching halt for god knows how long, and we might be waaaay closer to worst case scenario than I think even us in all of our doomsaying glory over the years, would have thought. Shit, if you're looking for a digital reichstag fire to use as cover to enact full emergency controls, there it is.
 
You know what I wonder?
I wonder how long you people in America have before you can't access sites like this, where we are free to talk about how fucked up your country is?

I mean, with everything else the are doing they will need to find a way to keep Americans from knowing what the rest of the world is doing.
