OT: American Politics

Seriously, the VC mindset has completely broken the way US business people look at everything. There's no incentive to actually build a good business that provides a valuable product or service to a customer anymore. There's definitely no incentive in building that product or service delivery company in such a way that you focus on keeping those customers happy over a long period of time. Nah, the entire game now is to make as close to nothing as you can, bullshit your way into a massive valuation and sell it to someone else. That's 95% of value creation in the US right now.

Case in point is AI. No one can tell you what it's 1 Trillion dollar value proposition is, because there is no trillion dollar use case, no trillion dollar problem it solves. But that fucking fraud is propping up a bunch of other over valued companies who spent a fffffuckton of capex on building out a trillion dollar industry that will never exist. House of fucking cards.

VC mindset is fucked but I would say Amazon, Google, Netflix (and a bunch of other companies) do provide valuable services and products that are valued by their customers.

and amazon needed some dirty tricks to win their niche.....though i'd say to their credit it's a quality service now.

Google and Netflix won out fair and square with A++ services but unfortuantekly now they've canniblized and enshittified themselves so they're not nearly what they were.
