Trade between Russia and China has gone pretty fucking terribly. Russia sold them a bunch of weapons systems and China cancelled the programs because they found out that their domestic systems were already better. China "supports" Russia for the reason we're seeing right now, they just fucked the guts out of the US with Donnie.

Canada has to be strategic here.

We had pretty good relations with China up until about 2016. Yeah, our ambassador would sometimes post a pensive picture outside Tiananmen Square on June 4, but things were on the upswing bilaterally.

Then we started being in super alignment with the US on everything China-related as the US got more fearful, and things have gone steeply downhill.

US interests aren’t ours anymore. In some cases they might be the opposed. Everything has to be back on the table.
