OT: American Politics

That seems like a fair assessment. I’m not sure a lot of people thought beyond “Biden is president, economy bad.”

Frustrating to me that they bought into the Trump will be good for the economy bullshit but it is what it is. (My group chat that bought into this nugget admitted they’re having second thoughts now)

I think the underlying truth to all of this is that 95% of voters couldn't tell you what "the economy" actually is, but they can describe what it means to them in day to day terms. Kamala's biggest failing imo was that she (via her democrat strategists) was unwilling to adequately speak to wealth inequality and unable to produce a coherent vision for reducing it. She had a few canned lines but there's a bag of things organized capital was doing that caused the issues people were upset about. The real reason she didn't speak about it was that the donors of the Democrat party didn't want it spoken about because they profit off of it.

Not the same thing. But if everyone took your lead and surrendered already, maybe it will become the same thing.
It will eventually be the same thing. I told people that the time to ensure that this shit never happens was before November 5th because after that you probably wouldn't get another chance.

Trump and his acolytes/sponsors will definitely fuck with the election next year. We are rapidly heading toward a situation where only armed insurrection and bloodshed is going to get the country back from these fascists.

Musk only pays taxes if and when he sells his stock but that's not what he (and other oligarchs) do. When the stock is high they get loans using the stock as collateral. That loan money is what they actually spend. And when they need more they simply ask for another loan based on the stock price.

Tesla stock is going down because people don't want to buy Elon's shit. But now that he owns Trump he can just sign a contract with the US government to sell Cybertrucks to the army.

Same with Starlink. It makes all of its money from government contracts. This is why Elon started DOGE. So he could fire any federal regulator who was a threat to him being able to bilk the taxpayers out of their money by giving himself fat government contracts.

R/conservative is quite the read right now following Trump’s post about the Mexican president.

These people actually believe something real happened regarding cartels, etc. in the background instead of this moron being told by his people that you’re gonna stink the country into a deep recession that even the talking/lying points can’t resolve.
