If you want to know how bad they are, go and do a quick search for recent James Carville podcast and media appearances. He was just a speaker at Third Way and still has an outsized influence on corporate (sorry..."centrist") Democrats.
The drum he's been beating the last few weeks is to "roll over and play dead" because he's convinced that the Trump GOP is going to collapse within the next 30 days under it's own weight and opposing him will breathe life into his government. There's an entire group of "centrist" Dem strategists who refuse to believe that this is anything different than the political brinksmanship that they were almost as good as the Republicans of their day in.
