Indeed! Though it’s good to see, still. I envy any sweet summer children who still believe any of the following at this point:

1. That the US will still have free and fair elections in 2026.
   
   
2. That the House if it’s flipped, or any other branch of government or institution really, will have the power to stop Trump from exercising near-absolute power at that point.
   
   
3. That Trump and his cadre will ever willingly cede power again without extreme violence and a lot of death.

Tbh it's barely even optimism. Things are still terrible overall and there's a new catastrophe every day. But this particular prediction seems obvious to me. Sorry folks but states run the elections and there's nothing ol' Dumpy can do about that in such a short timeframe.
