OT: American Politics

Quebec significantly softened the provision at issue. It’s still dumb but it’s not nearly as potentially problematic as the first draft.


I’ve taken issue before with the sometimes over-the-top scope, application and enforcement of Quebec’s language laws.

Still though, it strikes me as insanely arrogant to raise a trade dispute over the fact that the foreign country you want to sell your goods to requires that they be labelled in its foreign language.

They have a lot of work to do but this is a start.
