He was 100% right about Trump Top, Nikkei destruction, and stagflation concerns hitting the US market.
Incredible chartist. But I’m skeptical of his political prognostications
Xtrends has been saying America is broken for years and years so it's not exactly inconsistent with his prior beliefs. Not sure he is pro or anti Trump. He just genuinely believes that America needs a hard reset. It has been the main part of his bear thesis for as long as I can remember.
I SORT of see the rationale of a hard reset and always have. But the pain in between now and the "bottom" can never be worth it, and in the end it will only increase the wealth disparity. And this bringing jobs to America thing is nonsense.Yeah. I’m pretty sure he’s one of those anti modern monetary policy dudes. (Aka stop printing too much money)
That group has been shrinking for years but he seems to be part of it. He’s probably stockpiling gold.
Like everyone else in the field, he gets a lot wrong too.

There's some truth that they are behind China, Japan, etc on robotics and they could do a lot of work in catching up there.. but why? It likely will still be cheaper to do this work in Vietnam even after the tariffs. Nike ain't coming to America.

Hard reset on trade is pretty much the dumbest economic move ever in history.
