If the economy is imbalanced in a certain direction, nudge the shit back on course. There's all sorts of market bending tools available to a US President. Biden was utilizing some of them with CHIPS act, student loan debt forgiveness, etc.

The self flagellating tracks since many of the Christofascists in high office are members of Opus Dei (Leonard Leo, Alison. Even Bill Barr, to name just a few) Opus Dei are very big on self-flaggelating.
