TLDR: Before my term started, everyone agreed this was the case and nobody could conceive of any other way. But after just a few weeks of my personal brand of poor man's Dunning-Kruger unrestrained imbecility and some of the stupidest policy decisions ever conceived by the human mind, we should probably just keep it the way it was.

Nixon, before he went off the deep end, had a legitimate combat record in WW2. He could've even gotten a religious exemption (was a Quaker) but he in fact volunteered to fight. Now, this doesn't excuse all the shit he did as President but does make him better than a Nepobaby that got his dad to write him a doctor's note to get out of serving

Nixon also didn't sell his country out to the Russians in exchange for access to hookers and money.
