I simply thought the reason he was deflecting questions about article 5 was because he has no idea what article 5 is.
even a year would be record speed.trade deals take a year to strike. full stop.
they just need to lie to cover up other lies
Mamdani gonna take it. may not be that close in the end. Dems kinda deserve it for running a candidate as terrible as Cuomo, but I'm definitely at minimum trepidatious about Mamdani.
He's not an anti-Semite. He just doesn't lick Bibi's ball sack like the other candidates. He isn't concerned about "donors".honest question why? i don't know much about these guys tbh, but is it about his "globalize the intifada" comment? I really don't think you have to worry about this guy actually being anti-semitic tbh.
he's got a lot of well meaning proposals that don't pass the math test
-- freeze rent in New York City (every economist left or right knows rent control does not work)
-- make buses fare-free,
-- create a “network” of city-owned grocery stores that focuses on “keeping prices low, not making a profit,”
yah as someone on twitter summarized, his comments on globalize the intifada are either incredibly naive or incredibly malicious.honest question why? i don't know much about these guys tbh, but is it about his "globalize the intifada" comment? oh in terms of his socialism I'm mostly actually on board with it. I just don't know that he'll care to keep Jews safe. his comments on globalize the intifada and from the river to the sea inspire negative confidencehe's got a lot of well meaning proposals that don't pass the math test

the fear is essentially that he'll turn his back on keeping Jews safe in New York. what happens if he orders the police to stop protecting synagogues? we're at the point where religious Jews require security and policing just to study, pray, and exist. if he puts an end to that, could be terrifying. and I'll admit I don't actually know whether the mayor has this power/influence. I'm also not a New Yorker so I don't feel so bad about not knowing that
as opposed to the well balanced existing math of "cut taxes, spend more on police".

two opposing ideas can both be wrong
beware of simple solutions on both sides -- that's how you end up with Dotards
yah I'm not buying it myself. I speak out in support of palestinians and against bibi's actions too, but I don't try and tell minority groups whether or not slogans targeting them are harmless, despite oodles of clear evidence to the contrary. The guy seems to me to be just a legit earnest guy. I'd be careful of demonizing him just because he's muslim and spoke out in support of palestinians and against bibi's actions.
I mean I support this in theory. there's just no good explanation for his comments about globalize the intifada - again, either indefensible naivety, or malice.btw one of his election planks is a massive increase in funding for police to specifically deal with hate crimes.
