How much cannabis policy has the current Republican controlled house and senate managed to pass?

I'm not defending the Democrats, they fumbled this largely because old man Biden wasn't a fan of changing the laws at all. But you're reading the opinions of cannabis finance bros who were born 10 years ago if your takeaways here are "Democrats bad, Republicans good".

Republicans nationwide have been obstructing pro cannabis policy for decades, you would know this if you gave a flying fuck about the issue before it was an investment opportunity.

Huh? I'm just observing what I see. I don't read weed twitter, it's insufferable and filled with maga apes. I'm just saying the Dems suck. And no, I don't invest in the space, I follow it for the quick trades sometimes or political story. Because the Dem fumble is fascinating to me.

Democrats passed SAFE Banking through the house, Republicans dummy it in the Senate...Democrats fault.

Senate Dems propose the COAO, but it never makes the Senate floor because they get told the Republicans won't support it and the Dems couldn't get enough R's onboard to beat a filibuster....Democrats fault.

It's just such a weird view of the issue that I've only ever seen in one small niche group of twits, the cannabis finance bros.

It's weird to say that they didn't attempt to move the issue forward, it's weird to say that the Republicans have ever done anything meaningful to move the issue forward.

I've never argued that the Dems weren't inept. But the Republicans are obvious historic obstructionists on this issue, and that continues today even with dear leader dreaming up EO's to keep the rubes in line.

I want to see the Dems get things done. I'm not seeing that on a magnitude of issues. It upsets me. It's a very boring topic and not interesting to anyone here, but Schumer and Booker had every opportunity to get some small wins ~6 years ago. But botched it in legendarily inept fashion. Mostly because they care way more about virtue signaling than actually getting things done.

I didn't think so, but when we're out here in the lord's year of 2026 specifically blaming democrats for cannabis being where it is still, well...yeah maybe.

But this is a common take in US politics. Democrats get blamed for not being able to get good things done fast enough while Republicans actively try to make it all worse.
