Americans think that whoever blows up the most shit wins the war like it's a game show or something. Win and losing is on a gradient, but broadly, whoever achieves their war aims the most, wins the war. Strategically, this is an amazing win for Iran. Beyond the wildest dreams of the most irrationally optimistic IRGC analyst. They shed some old guard politicians and clerics (inability to turn over the leadership class tends to be a major root cause for regime collapses), they showed that the US and Israel combined lack the kinetic ability to defeat them without putting troops on the ground (which neither are willing to do). They've preserved their nuclear program more or less as it was before this started, but most importantly now have unchallenged sovereignty over one of the most valuable waterways on the planet and have gained the ability to monetize that for the first time ever. They just became Panama. If Panama had a population of 90 million, a strategic relationship with China & Russia and one of the largest oil reserves on the planet. Iran is a half step away from becoming the runaway power in the region. This is an epic, epic fucking catastrophe.

If any NATO countries had actually swallowed the bait and joined Trump and Netanyahu’s boondoggle unprovoked war, once their boots were on the ground Trump would’ve immediately pulled out, left them holding the bag and raged at them for their failure to reopen the strait.
