OT: American Politics

The absolutely biggest divide is urban/rural though, it's easy to forget it but we shouldn't. As some of us joked about recently, it's hard as fuck to find a US city that doesn't have a democrat mayor. The closer and closer politics gets to actually impacting an American citizen in their day to day lives, instead of being some weird abstract concept for them to rage about, the less and less they're willing to trust Republicans with it. But even that just comes from a deep misunderstanding of how much decisions made far away from your front door alter the system that determines a lot of how you live.
