It’s not really about liberal/communist/socialist/whatever

It’s about the country being politically illiterate. None of these terms make any sense if you don’t understand them.

Until then, it’s mostly people rooting for team colours and personal charisma

Yup. Words stopped meaning the actual thing the rest of us understand them to mean many years ago down there. It's all this deeply fucking weird and dishonest culture war that has completely co opted the concepts objective truth and expertise being necessary for society to function.

They're fucked. Absolutely fucked.
