I do agree that nothing will probably be done...though my own theory is that at some point there will be a quiet talk with trump and a mountain of evidence, at which talk it will be suggested that maybe trump does not in fact, want to run again.
 
That seems plausible, though he seems to have a super human capacity to suspend reality if motivated. Anyway, my darker side thinks that there have been explicit threats of violence.
 
I am a full on habsy-esque cynic now when it comes to American politics generally, and wrongdoers suffering any consequences for their actions specifically.
 
you don't have to think anything's ever going to happen to trump for some of these things to still be significant news for american politics though. like "former presidents lawyers are meeting with district attorney re: potential criminality" should probably still be noteworthy even if it's true that american politics is fucked/terrible rich men get with terrible things exhibit 493958. gonna keep posting that shit.

Yes. If the guys who planned and provoked the attack were ever going to be charged, it would be because of the criminal things they said and did themselves, which are mostly a matter of public record. Trump is never going to go to jail because of something that @proudpatriot69_xxmagaguns did in his name. These guys are accessories to Trump’s crimes, not the other way around.

But this is justice in the US. One of the reasons that the traitor side of the GOP is happy to egg these dummies on is because they know that they’re above the fray.
 
They tried to reverse the election through a 2nd set of electors in 7 states. That’s documented. Delusional? Bigly. Irresponsible? Yep. Hard to see it as illegal. The asked Pence to do something illegal (or reversible in the courts), but he refused.

As far as the camo clowns who attacked the Capitol, yeah charge them. Eedgits. But I wonder if Trump was more opportunistic on that score than proactive. He didn’t discourage them, which is mega shitty but not a crime. Incitement? Unlikely.

In terms of indictments, he may have more exposure to financial crimes in NY.
