I don't do pot either, ( my sense of humour is odd enough without those kind of stimulants) but it is stupid to classify it as being any worse than beer.

The amount that you have to consume in order to overdose isn't even a real number.

It is a waste of time to for it to confinue as criminal behaviour. Now, back to my whiskey

The law was written disingenuously on purpose to criminalize hippies and disenfranchise them as voters. Nixon was just essentially getting rid of his opposition by turning anyone with a doobie in their pocket into a felon.

And while Biden called on states to follow his lead don't expect any red states to do anything. Most red states have privatized their prisons so ticky-tack drug busts that put people into for-profit jails represents revenue. And since a lot of state politicians and judges are also stockholders in these prison companies, they have a vested interest in maintaining the status quo.
