I mean, the fact that arranged marriages have a rough divorce rate of 4% in nations where they're traditional expectations and 40% in the US kind of underlines the overall point that the more restrictive the society they're in, the less likely a divorce is. The variance between arranged and non arranged in western nations is really likely to be cultural/family enforcement than it is a sign of relationship success.

i think it's ultimately about expectations...within reason, you can choose to keep loving your partner (whether you picked them thru your own filters or they were filtered for you)

data shows that women are not happier with marriage than they were 100 yrs ago (when they had less say in the matter)

the fact that it would be in the same states that don't allow divorce while pregnant and also don't allow abortions is pretty horrific.
