I don't think that that fact alone though can be used to justify or support their continued use. What about the prevalence of abuse in arranged vs. conventional marriages?
 
Honestly this might be the craziest thing I've ever seen. Maybe there is more to the story about something that happened before. In many of these cases, at least there is some reason for the cop to confront, even if their response is a million times too violent.

This is a kid eating a hamburger ... in the parking lot of a place that sells hamburgers ... that has a drive-thru so you don't have to go in ... and the cop approaches from the blind spot, so the kid has no idea he's even there, and opens the door and tells him to get out. For what reason? The kid is so surprised he only has time to say "Why?" before he's getting shot at repeatedly.

I had to go through the replies and make sure it was real before I even posted it. This cop is completely insane and should be charged with attempted murder and given a complete psychic evaluation to determine if he's sane or not.

i'm fairly cynical of marriage as an institution in the first place so it just really doesn't seem like anything i'd want to do with someone i didn't pick. i'd just rather be single.

Saw it on reddit... cop claimed that the car was one that evaded him a few days before. Still would not give him grounds to approach while responding to a different call.
 
Figured it was something idiotic like that. The kid had so little time to process what was going on, I wouldn't be surprised if he thought he was being carjacked rather than approached by a police officer.
