it is also the perfect segway away from the oilopoly and into renewables. hope they have the courage to sack up. MBS is giving'em lotsa cause. No greater, ballsier move could be made by the US then to back away from the fucking Saudis, who have controlled America foreign policy far too long.
But hoo boy is it risky.
destroying our planet is also inflicting massive damage to the economy. see: Ian, Fiona, etc.can't really transition from oil to renewables quickly without inflicting massive damage to the economy (and no prez wants to do that)
I'm with you...but many on the green revolution side are hopelessly naive and can't add 2 and 2 together.destroying our planet is also inflicting massive damage to the economy. see: Ian, Fiona, etc.
yeah if governments stopped subsidizing further fossil fuel development, and removed the existing subsidies, things may begin looking very different. and then as you note there is the corporate profiteering too...I'm with you...but many on the green revolution side are hopelessly naive and can't add 2 and 2 together.
we really need a two track system -- fund the renewable revolution bigly and ASAP with the filthy revenue derived from all forms of cheap oil including fracking
stupid fucking Germans. Also stop closing nuclear plants.
