OT: American Politics

It is extremely unusual now that I look at it. It actually takes a fair amount of discomfort and balance for him to stand like that. Hard to imagine he'd do it intentionally. He's carrying around a lot of weight too, so to put himself in a tipping over position is very strange.

Oh there's plenty of write ups on his centaur stance. It's actually intentional and practiced i think.

It's even started to be imitated....

This extensive write up blames the combination of him wearing specially designed Life shoes and being obese:

I don't know how he hasn't killed himself already. I genuinely don't know how he's been able to take all the theories and criticism these past four years and wants to go another four.

Because celebrity & media attention is what this guy has lived for his entire adult life.

The last four years of being the most famous & talked about human being on the planet have probably been like a junkie being on a non-stop high.

at the risk of sounding like one of those conspiracy theorists I disparaged earlier, I have noticed that Trump allows himself to go after corporations (or important trade partners) only if the market is riding high. and if the stock market doesn't like it, he'll send out one of his lackeys to walk it back

Don't think it sounds like that at all. Seems like a logical conclusion to come to.

What I'm interested in, from a legal perspective, is how fact checking counts as violation of free speech. You absolutely have the right to free speech (*) in the US, what you don't have is the right to be right. Is the platform fact checking you not them exercising their free speech? Aren't you violating their right to free speech by stifling their ability to debate you by way of fact checking?

This is a gross assault on free speech clothed in the defence of it.

Agreed. Seems like all the legal and tech experts in that article thinks it is dead on arrival. I'm not sure that matters to him, they'll just sell it to his base as him fighting for free speech and those evil librul judges smacking it down.

yeah this is the grand irony of it all.

had twitter, fb, etc actually enforced all their rules as written, a lot less Trumpco propaganda would be out there

The first amendment protects the rights of individuals and companies against the government censoring their free speech.

Trump using a free speech argument to get the government to censor a private company's ability to control its own platform is the perfect encapsulation of the bizarro world we've entered into.

America is about to break.
