If a newspaper does editorial opinion pieces as part of it's offering, it is insisting that it's opinions are of high enough quality that they're worth paying for and that they don't simply see their role as reporters, but also as analysts of events...which is fine and quite often pretty fucking valuable. But if a newspaper can project it's opinion on matters of lesser importance for the other 3.5 years, it should also be providing it's opinion on the most important issue it covers in that 4 year cycle. To not do so for almost any reason is a complete fucking cop out. To do so in this race specifically is abandoning it's readership when they need good professional analysis the most.
His response is a smart word salad but it’s ultimately bullshit, otherwise it would have been published at the same time as the decision was announced…. which was also ill timed
